Why I Am Seeking Re-Election
Over the past four years, we have achieved meaningful results together in Ward 6. Through focused leadership, strong advocacy, and responsible decision making, we have strengthened our community, invested in critical infrastructure, improved parks and recreation opportunities, and advanced affordable housing initiatives while protecting taxpayers and maintaining financial stability.
Ward 6 is stronger, safer, and better prepared for the future than it was four years ago. Through my advocacy and leadership, I secured significant investments specifically for Ward 6, including:
-
$5.6 million for the Tiffin Street reconstruction project.
-
$1.17 million for flood mitigation near the Bear Creek Wetlands and Marta Crescent.
-
$100,000 in upgrades to Ferndale Woods Park.
-
$150,000 for a new pedestrian crosswalk at Mapleton Avenue and Batteaux Street, improving safety for families, students, and seniors.
-
Recreation programs expanded to 95% capacity, providing more opportunities for residents of all ages.
-
Support for 100 new affordable homes coming to Ward 6 and more
In addition, I helped secure nearly $100 million in housing and infrastructure funding that benefits our city and supports the long-term growth and sustainability of our community.
These investments reflect a clear commitment to improving the quality of life for Ward 6 residents and preparing our neighbourhoods for future growth.
I am seeking re-election because there is still important work ahead. As Barrie continues to grow, Ward 6 needs experienced leadership that will continue to advocate for infrastructure improvements, safe neighbourhoods, housing affordability, accessible recreation, and responsible financial management.
My commitment remains the same: to be accessible, accountable, and responsive to residents. I have always made myself available to Ward 6 residents when they need me. Through my annual ward visits and ongoing community engagement, I have had the opportunity to listen, learn, and better understand the priorities and concerns of our neighbourhoods.
The progress we have made is only the beginning. I am running for re-election to build on these accomplishments, continue securing investments for Ward 6, and ensure our community remains a safe, vibrant, and welcoming place for families, seniors, and future generations.
I secured results for Ward 6. I will continue fighting for Ward 6. Together, we can keep moving our community forward.
